Dr. V. Arun Kumar is one of the most experienced liver transplant surgeons, having more than a decade of experience in liver transplantation and surgery of the liver, pancreas, and bile ducts. He started his medical career and pursued a Master’s in General Surgery from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. After this, Dr. Kumar completed his MCH in Liver Transplant and Gastrointestinal Surgery at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.

In his MCh training, Dr. Kumar undertook training in hepatopancreatic biliary and gastrointestinal surgeries and procedures. He followed his interest in doing a fellowship in liver transplant and hepatopancreatic biliary (HPB) surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in New Delhi. He also received most of his training at this institution and was privileged to work on many cases of liver transplantation, donor hepatectomies, and the management of hepatic-pancreaticobiliary malignancies.

Dr. V. Arun Kumar has shown his dedication to academic excellence by continually seeking opportunities to learn and improve. He attends national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars in order to be updated with new surgical procedures and patient-handling methods. He has a passion for continued learning and a vision of being in a position to be among the leading liver transplant specialists in Hisar. 

At present, Dr. Kumar is an attending consultant at the Apollo Liver Transplant and HPB unit, where he still attends to patients with various liver diseases, such as cirrhosis, hemochromatosis, liver diseases, and hepatitis B.
