CLINICAL HAEMATOLOGIST

Dr. Meet Kumar is well-equipped in the field of hematology, and he possesses a set of competitive and academic achievements. He further pursued his MBBS and MD from Jamnagar, Gujarat, and gained his DM in Clinical Hematology from NRS Medical College, Kolkata. He also went further to delve into his sub-specialty, where he earned a Fellowship in Bone Marrow Transplant at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. Hence, he underwent special education in bone marrow transplant and Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CART) cell therapy at Kings College in London. Meet Kumar holds a Doctor of Medicine degree and has been practicing hematology and bone marrow transplantation for more than 14 years. He has done more than 700 bone marrow transplant cases involving autologous, allogenic, matched unrelated, and haplo-identical transplants. He has rich experience working with reputed and premium hospitals across the country, such as Sir Ganga Ram Hospital New Delhi, SGPGI Lucknow, BLK Hospital Delhi, and Fortis Memorial Research Institute Gurgaon. In particular, he set up the first ‘Bone Marrow Transplant Center’ in the first state government-owned hospital in Vadodara, Gujarat. Dr. Kumar has received many awards, like the ‘Hisar Gaurav’ and ‘Global Award,’ for his identification with the new emerging hematologists. He has the honor of executive membership in the Indian Society of Hematology & Blood Transfusion. The areas of specialization of Dr. Kumar are numerous and deal with hematological diseases and their treatment. He has received special training in the treatment of diseases, including anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and aplastic anemia. He has performed many other bone marrow transplants, particularly complex ones, in which he has demonstrated a lot of efficiency. Dr. Kumar is a member of several local and international professional hematology bodies. He is an Executive Member of the Indian Society of Hematology & Blood Transfusion (ISHBT), the Bengal Society of Hematology, and the Delhi Society of Hematology. Dr. Kumar has contributed to the Department of Pathology, specifically in the area of hematology, for over 20 years; in this capacity, he has written research papers that have been published in national and international learned periodicals. He actively presents his work and research at conferences in panels, moderating and chairing them and discussing them with other professionals and doctors. Dr. Kumar has contributed as an author to more than 20 publications in national and international referred journals and has research interests in the area of hematology. He actively attends conferences, presents papers, and participates in discussions and debates as a panelist/moderator/chairperson with colleagues and other physicians.
