He has an MBBS and MS from PGIMS, Rohtak, and an MCh in Neurosurgery from SMS Medical College, Jaipur. He also got a Fellowship in Spine Surgery at Apollo Specialty in Madras.

Dr. Umesh Kalra has done more than 15,000 neurological procedures in his more than 30 years of experience. He is an expert in brain and spine surgery that is as minimally invasive as possible, skull base surgery, neurovascular surgery, extracranial-intracranial bypass surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, and epilepsy surgery. He is known as one of the best neurosurgeons in the area because of his many years of experience and hard work.
