Our gastroenterology department is equipped to diagnose and treat a variety of gastrointestinal diseases, including:
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): A long-term condition that is characterized by the regular occurrence of stomach acid in the esophagus, leading to discomfort.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): This large intestine condition is relatively familiar and, in many ways, presents with pain in the stomach, bloating, gas, constipation, and diarrhea.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD): This consists of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, the two types of inflammation that affect the colon persistently.
Â
Liver Cirrhosis: It is irreversible damage to the liver due to the persistence of the injury, which could be attributed to alcohol, hepatitis, or fat accumulation in the liver. It results in liver damage and shares signs such as yellowing of the skin, fluid build-up, and dizziness. Therapeutic intervention focuses on the prevention and treatment of associated complications, the therapy of predisposing conditions, and liver support.
Chronic pancreatitis: It is a chronic inflammation of the pancreas that can be caused by alcohol intake and other conditions. This leads to digestive tract issues, distress, and weight reduction. It is managed by modifications that may include changes in lifestyle, analgesics, and enzymes. In extreme situations, operations or other relevant actions are required to treat the manifestations of the accompanying processes.
Gastrointestinal Cancers: For example, stomach, colon, pancreatic, and liver cancers are localized, complex diseases that need specific and integral management strategies.
Gallstone Disease: It refers to the creation of hard particles in the gall bladder. It results in abdominal pain, nausea, and jaundice. Treatment can be as simple as changing the diet of the patient to as complicated as the surgical removal of the gallbladder. In worse situations, serious conditions such as pancreatitis may present symptoms and need professional help.
